Hampden burger slammed at Celtic v Rangers match as fans ask 'where's the rest of it?'

Football fans have slammed the hospitality offering at Hampden after a fan shared a picture of a burger served up to him at the Scottish Cup semi final.

Glasgow rivals Celtic and Rangers clashed in the showpiece match at Scotland's national stadium on Sunday, with the Ibrox team triumphing 2-1 after extra time.

One supporter made the most of the big game occasion, having landed himself a spot in the hospitality section at Hampden.

Reece Anderson took in the game from the comfort from the Hampden Suites, which, as described on the Scottish FA website, provides 'a vibrant atmosphere in which to entertain, or enjoy with colleagues, family, or friends'.

Fans splashing out extra for the 'The Hampden Suites experience', get to 'enjoy a delicious three course meal, selected beer, wine, and soft drinks', while they also benefit from sitting in executive seats in the stadium's main South Stand.

However, many on social media have taken issue with what was served up as part of the hospitality at Hampden on Sunday after Reece shared a photo of his food order.

Selecting a cheeseburger and chips off the kids menu for his nephew, who was alongside him for the big game, it would be an understatement to say what was brought to Reece's table was a bit of a let down.

And hundreds of people have reacted with shock since Reece shared the picture on Twitter.

One person said: "Where's the rest of it?", while another added: "first time I have seen a meat ball in a bread bun!".

A further comment read: "I've had better in the hospital", while one person said: "Burger looks cremated and I would need to get a chippy after that, I would be starving."

Meanwhile, several people have pointed out the lanyard which was included in the picture, a pass which allows fans into hospitality areas. As well as the match info and kick off time, it reads 'unforgettable memories', something many football supporters have seen the irony in while reacting to the tiny burger.

Other reactions read: "I've chucked out better for the birds", while one person said "The most Glasgow meal I have ever seen".

With a series of big games coming up at Hampden, including the Scottish Cup final between Rangers and Hearts and Scotland's crunch qualifier against Ukraine, supporters will be hoping the food offering improves inside the national stadium, or they may think twice about stumping up the cash for hospitality, with prices for the cup final yet to be confirmed.
