Hamilton head coach Stuart Taylor anticipates Ellis Brown will have gained plenty of information from his first Accies start.
The winger arrived from English National League side Boreham Wood in January and had been limited to sub appearances prior to Saturday's Championship match with Dunfermline.
Taylor disagrees with the decision to give a penalty against him during the 2-2 draw, in which David Moyo's Accies double was cancelled out by Coll Donaldson and Steven Lawless efforts.
A wide player with plenty of pace, Taylor was pleased with what he got from the energetic forward, but insists it's only the start for him.
He said: "This club is all about bringing through young players and working on projects. We want to progress young players and Ellis is perfect for that.
"We've had him training with us for quite a bit and he nearly scored on his debut down at Queen of the South. He's played quite a few minutes.
"I felt it was the right time for him to come in and make his starting debut. I thought he did well. He showed the energy and pace he's got.
"He showed the good the feet he's got. He possibly found it a little bit hard as their full-back did very well. But Ellis showed threat."
Six of Hamilton's last nine matches have ended in draws, and Taylor wants his side to add two parts of cutting edge in order to turn one point into three points ahead of facing Partick Thistle on Saturday.
He explained: "It's about being more ruthless in both boxes. There's been games where we have drawn and the opposition have been delighted with the point they have gained.
"We have been gutted with the two points we have dropped. That's not a case of us just trying to sort out the defence and not conceding, it's not that.
"It's also about how we can defend from the front and in other games where we could have been 2-0 or 3-0 up. Again, that's not just the forward line.
"It's midfielders and defenders coming up for set-pieces. It's about being ruthless as a whole team."
