Pupils from the Karen Bordon Dance Academy (KBDA) in Hamilton are set to be extremely busy in the run up to Christmas - oh yes they are!
Fresh from their success at the recent WLDF World Championships, 21 of some of their youngest dancers will be taking part in professional pantomimes this festive season.
Auditioning for juvenile dancers with Spillers Pantomimes, eight young dancers from the Academy beat off stiff competition and have been selected from over 100 dancers who attended the auditions. Sarah Barclay, Anna Barrie, Amelie Bonnar, Eva Caruthers, Josie Dickson, Isabella Ferrie, Olivia McCann and Lucy McCormick will be taking part in Cinderella at Motherwell Theatre from Sunday onwards.
A further dancer from the Academy also successfully auditioned for the part of a juvenile dancer with Imagine Theatre.
Caitlyn Justice will be taking part in Sleeping Beauty at FTH Theatre, Falkirk.
The Academy also have a group of 12 young pupils starring in Cinderella, where they’ll be playing mini fairies, with the youngest fairy, Lolah Maguire, being a mere four-years-old.
The fairies also include Sophia Callaghan, Ellie Campbell, Carla Dickson, Olivia Ferrie, Lana Gibson, Maya Grierson, Isabella Kusz, Olivia Loggie, Sophie McAllister, Penelope McCallum and Sophia Traynor.
Dance teacher Karen told Lanarkshire Live : "We are so proud of all our dancers achievements and can’t wait to see everyone perform on stage.
"Our thanks to both Spillers and Imagine Theatre for the wonderful opportunities they provide in giving our dancers their first taste of life on the professional stage."
