Hamilton care home residents join together in emotional sing-song during coronavirus lockdown

Fabulous residents at a Hamilton care home have been raising their spirits during the coronavirus crisis with a sing-song.

The singing was led by 100-year-old Martha Whip, a resident at the Avonbridge Care Home.

Martha, who celebrated her mile-stone birthday last month, can be seen holding the microphone singing It’s a Long, Long Way to Tipperary, along with her fellow residents.

The video has been shared on the care home’s Facebook page in order to help keep those residents in touch with loved ones who are not able to visit them at the moment.

The video has been well received by those who have watched it and has been viewed more than 1000 times.

Keri Whip posted on their social media page: “This is so wonderful thank you so much for sharing. Love you gran. She’s brilliant!”

Enid Whip said: “How wonderful is this lady? and watching her singing is just fantastic. Love her.”
