A group of talented Hamilton artists are celebrating 20 years as a group with a three day exhibition.
The Hillhouse and Earnock Art Group was set up in 2003 by former teacher Heather Darling and has a wide range of students enjoying all aspects of art.
Speaking to Lanarkshire Live this week, Heather said: “I had taught art at Earnock and Lesmahagow High before I retired and was looking at starting a group.
“Living in Hamilton it seemed an ideal place. I wasn’t sure how popular it would be but it’s kept going and now we have three classes per week.
“Some of the people have been coming here for the 20 years and it has become a great social thing for many of our members.
“We have had a number of guest tutors come in over the past few months and we go on outings to all parts of Scotland such as the Pittenweem arts festival.”
Heather has revealed there will be a whole host of paintings on offer during the exhibition and hopes the artist’s skill will be recognised by those who will be viewing their work.
She added: “You will see a wide selection of work from some very talented people. Everyone has worked hard produced some beautiful work.”
The Hillhouse and Earnock Art Group’s 20th anniversary exhibition takes place at Hillhouse Parish Church Hall and is open on Friday, June 9, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm; Saturday, June 10, from 10am to 4pm and Sunday, June 11, from 1pm to 4pm.
