Back to back league wins might have effectively secured Hamilton Accies' place in next season's Championship - but defender Jamie Hamilton says a play-off spot is still the target.
Andy Winter's 65th-minute strike earned Accies a 1-0 win over Queen of the South on Saturday, moving them up to sixth place and 12 points clear of their visitors, who were reduced to 10 men 40 minutes in when Ben Liddle was shown a second yellow card.
That was added to last weekend's 4-0 win over Partick Thistle at Firhill, and leaves Accies seven points off of fourth-placed Thistle with 15 to play for.
Hamilton says never say never, and they'll keep climbing as high in the table as they can.
He said: "You could say that we're more or less safe, now, but we're not thinking about just being safe - we want the play-offs, we want to get as high as possible, and we're just going to keep pushing for that.
"We're getting closer, so never say never.
"It's an absolutely brilliant win, I'm absolutely buzzing for the boys. We wanted to go out and get the three points, and I felt like we did that well.
"Winning 4-0 last week gave us so much confidence going into this game, but we wanted to go out and win, we wouldn't have settled for less, and we went and did it."
Hamilton says Queen of the South made life difficult for Hamilton, particularly in the closing stages, but he was delighted to see Winter strike his third goal of the season.
He said: "I felt as if we moved the ball about well, but they were throwing all their players forward and that's why we were having to defend a lot at the very end of the game.
"But I felt that we did well, we held out for the win and got the three points.
"Andy has come in, he's been patient to get his chance, and I feel as if he took it. He's scored two goals in the last two weeks, so he's doing very well for himself.
"We'll go to Ayr, now, try to get the win, get another three points, and that's what we look for."
