Stuart Taylor reckons Hamilton Accies are in their best shape since his arrival at the club in August, as they prepare to face Ayr United this weekend.
Following a break last week due to the Scottish Cup fourth round, Accies have had time to recuperate and welcome back some key players to the squad.
Striker David Moyo has returned from international duty with Zimbabwe, where he was part of their squad at the Africa Cup of Nations, while midfielder Marley Redfern and left-back Matthew Shiels have returned to training after picking up a hamstring issue and a dead leg, respectively, before the break.
Shiels collided with a post in the defeat to Dunfermline on January 15 and returned to training this week.
Assessing how his squad is looking for the visit of the Honest Men, Taylor said: "We are probably in the best position since I've been at the club, in terms of players being fit.
"We've got Marley back, who is still recovering, and Shielsy as well.
"So it's a big congratulations to the team on the medical side for working so hard to get everybody back fit.
"Shielsy trained yesterday so we'll see how he goes over the next couple of days.
"It's great to have him back on the training pitch.
"It was a bad one - it was dead leg after contact with the post - but he's back training."
Moyo's return is a welcome one after Accies hit a blank against the Pars in a 1-0 defeat at East End Park.
His trip to Africa didn't pan out how he'd hoped, however. He failed to make a single appearance for his country in the Group B games against Senegal, Malawi and Guinea, as Zimbabwe crashed out at the first hurdle.
But Taylor is hopeful Moyo will slip straight back into the good form he'd showed before international duty - hitting four goals in his last six games.
He said: "We are disappointed for him. He left us in great form and he went over there in great spirits, with lots of confidence so we are disappointed he didn't get to play.
"David is obviously disappointed as well because he wants to play for his country but it was a great experience for him.
"You are talking about a tournament that all the top players are at, like [Liverpool's Sadio] Mane and guys like that.
"So it would have been good from that point of view.
"But he's got his Hamilton head on again. It's all about hard work and continuing to do the right things, and hopefully his form picks up where he left off."
