Lewis Spence was delighted to mark his Accies return with the winner against Morton on Saturday, and hopes that means he's over his injury nightmare.
The 26-year-old has endured a tricky start to his Hamilton career, dislocating his knee in the 0-0 draw at Dunfermline on September 25.
He made his comeback in the 0-0 draw at Raith Rovers on February 5, and Spence is now just happy to be back in the team.
Spence was delighted with his second goal of the season, but says he's just looking to stay fit and help Accies as much as he can between now and the end of the season.
He said: "I'm delighted to even just be back in the starting 11, that was the main thing, but it's a wee bonus to get the goal as well.
"Obviously it hasn't been the best start-off at Hamilton with my injury and that, but that's me back now.
"It's my first start back and a goal, so I'm delighted, and delighted with the three points.
"That's a big one for us, because on form Morton are probably the best team in the league at the moment, so I thought the boys did brilliant.
"It was vital today that we got three points because we've been doing well but haven't been getting the praises for it, so I'm delighted with the three points.
"I don't know what it looked like up there. I felt we were quite in control but maybe not threatening them as much as we would like with the ball.
"I know the fans were getting on the back a wee bit because we were maybe playing it a bit at the back.
"We work all week on things, we don't just turn up and do what we want. We get told what to do.
"I know they maybe don't see it like that sometimes because they want goals, action, but we work on a lot of things. Maybe in the first half we didn't create much, but I don't think they created anything all game.
"They just sat in, and that's hard to break down, but I thought we defended brilliantly as well, because they're a big team.
"Look at the run they've been on as well. They have a lot of big boys, so I thought the back four especially did really well with that, and a clean sheet as well.
"I thought overall we deserved it, I don't know what it looked like, but we're just happy with the three points and the clean sheet."
Spence hopes to stay as far away from Hamilton's treatment room as he can, and admits he's already looking ahead to starting again next season.
He said: "The main thing for me is to have a good end to the season now, and I've got another year so I can try and kick on again for next season.
"I want to try and stay as fit as I can, now. It was quite a bad injury, so I'm just delighted to be back, and if I can contribute with some goals and assists, then I'm happy with that as well.."
