Hamas released a video on Wednesday showing Israeli-American hostage Hersh Goldberg-Polin, providing the first evidence that he survived being badly wounded during his capture on October 7.
Goldberg-Polin, who was 23 at the time, was abducted from the Nova music festival on October 7 amidst Hamas' attacks on Israel, resulting in over 1,200 casualties and more than 200 individuals being taken hostage in Gaza.
In the video, which does not have a specified date, Goldberg-Polin is seen with a portion of his left arm missing several inches above the hand.
An earlier video from October 7 depicted Goldberg-Polin with a severely injured arm. An eyewitness account from a young woman who was present in the bunker with Goldberg-Polin during the Hamas assault mentioned that he assisted in throwing grenades out of the bunker before his arm was blown off from the elbow down.
The latest video does not provide any indication of when it was recorded.
