New Delhi: Samajwadi Party under the leadership of Akhilesh Yadav has shown its best performance so far in the Lok Sabha elections. The party took everyone by utter surprise on winning 37 seats with a huge margin out of 62 it contested in Uttar Pradesh.
Consequently, SP has emerged as the third-largest political party in the Lok Sabha.
Before it in 2004 Lok Sabha election, the Samajwadi Party won 38 seats in Uttar Pradesh. However, at that time the Party contested all the 80 seats in the state.
In fact, the recent poll strategy of Akhilesh Yadav has created a buzz in the high political corridors of the country.
Amidst the political exercise of government formation at the Centre, a huge number of SP workers and supporters gathered at the residence of the SP Chief here in New Delhi sloganeering ‘Hamara Pradhan Mantri Kaisa Ho, Akhilesh Yadav Jaisa Ho’ on Thursday morning.
Several media personnel and other supporters were also there at the residence of Akhilesh Yadav.
Earlier, TMC MPs Abhishek Banerjee and Derek O'Brien arrived there to meet Akhilesh Yadav.
On Wednesday evening, Akhilesh Yadav participated in the INDIA bloc meeting held at Congress Chief Kharge’s residence.
