Halsey announces summer concert series benefiting LGBTQ+ organizations, arts education in New Jersey

NEW YORK — Halsey is performing a series of summer concerts to raise funds for causes that are dear to their heart — the rights of the LGBTQ community around the world, as well art education in their native state of New Jersey.

“I’m playing a handful of intimate venues with a string ensemble this summer in partnership with Hard Rock Live to benefit [two] LGBTQ+ organizations,” the Grammy-nominated musician, who uses both she and they pronouns, wrote on social media last week.

The “Without Me” singer is partnering up with Hard Rock Live for shows in Florida, Indiana and California for three shows in June and July.

Proceeds of those shows will benefit the Human Rights Campaign, the nation’s largest LGBTQ civil rights organization, and Outright International, a New York-based nonprofit that fights for LGBTQ inclusion and alongside partners around the globe.

Halsey, who was born and raised in New Jersey, is also performing two concerts in Newark to benefit arts programs and education across the state.

The 28-year-old musician and bestselling author will return home “for a very special engagement” as part of the North to Shore Festival. Their concerts are scheduled for Wednesday, June 21, and Thursday, June 22, at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.

Named one of Time’s “100 Most Influential People of 2020,” Halsey is one of the only artists to have four different songs hit 1 billion streams on Spotify.

The prolific singer-songwriter — who has amassed more than 50 billion global streams — often uses their platform to advocate for causes such as mental health, women’s rights, disenfranchised youth and the rights of the LGBTQ community.
