Newsham Park Hospital will host a horror scream park experience over the Halloween period.
The derelict Victorian Grade II listed building has held everything from Seamen’s orphanage, a hospital, an asylum and a nursing home but now, it will host one of Europe's biggest scare events - Newsham Scream Park.
The venue is a hotspot for ghost hunters hoping to connect with the supernatural with many claiming to have seen spirits or felt something while exploring its halls. It is regularly cited as one of the UK’s most haunted buildings but the public is invited to test the atmosphere out for themselves.

Three scare attractions will terrify guests: The Insanitorium, The Orphanage and The HELLuminati. Each experience will journey through the bowels of the building filled with its horrors only emerging as the night goes on.
The Insanitorum will see you check in at The Goodwell Institute where its unethical medical doctors will aim to discover what happens after death. Madness runs rampant and those attending may be subject to questionable invasive procedures.
The Orphanage explores the rotten core of the sisterhood and the ancient evil first invoked by Sister Mary Mercy, which must be appeased by the time the tour ends.
Finally, and not for the faint of heart, the HELLuminati inspect "the meat" obtained in illegal black market auctions, held by the sick and twisted minds of the members and their leader, Omega.
The courtyard at Newsham Scream Park will include live music and DJs, licensed bars, food vendors and an array of tarot card readers, mystics, spirit board guides and other characters.
The Insanitorium and The Orphanse are available for ages 14+ whereas The HELLumintati is strictly 18+ The Insanitorium and The Orphanage are included in the base ticket price (£25 + booking fee) while HELLuminati is an additional £15 per pair and booking fee.
