Halle Berry shaved daughter Nahla's head after impact daily swims had on her hair during lockdown

With hairdressers across the world closed, the struggle to maintain a respectable barnet in lockdown is real.

A number of celebrities have resorted to extreme or eccentric (hello Blake Shelton's mullet) hair while in quarantine as they trust themselves or their partner / child to deliver a wonky haircut.

Halle Berry's 12-year-old daughter Nahla is the latest victim of a lockdown DIY effort after her mother revealed on Jimmy Fallon that she had been forced to shave the back of Nahla's head.

The reason? Too many dives into the swimming pool, which for anyone stuck in less luxurious lockdown circumstances sounds like a small price to pay for a daily dip.

"Every day we’re swimming, we get out of the pool, my daughter’s 12 and so every time I got to comb her hair she’s like 'No don’t touch me, I can handle it, I’m a tween, don’t brush my hair'" said Berry.

She added, "Two nights ago, we’re doing her homework and [Nahla] goes, 'Mom, I’m scared to tell you this, but touch the back of my head.'"

"All her hair, which is past her shoulders, has shrunken up into a tight ball that feels like matted fur. I can’t even get my finger in it, and I’m pulling and she’s screaming" she said.

After attempting unsuccessfully to comb it through, Berry eventually got the razor out.

In the chat, Berry also revealed how Pierce Brosnan saved her life on the set of James Bond film Die Another Day.

After being told to seduce Bond in the scene they were filming with a fig, she ended up choking on a piece of it. "He had to get up and do the Heimlich. So not sexy," she said.

Berry is isolating in Los Angeles with Nahla and her 6-year-old son Maceo.
