Halle Berry Seeks Sole Custody Amid Bitter Battle With Ex.

Halle Berry American actress

Halle Berry has requested sole custody of her son, Maceo, amidst a contentious custody battle with her ex-husband Olivier Martinez. Alleging Martinez's turbulent and detrimental behavior has negatively impacted their 10-year-old son, Berry claims he has serious behavior and learning problems that Martinez has allegedly ignored. Berry further asserts that Martinez prioritizes Maceo's soccer activities over his education, refusing to provide a tutor due to potential interference with practice schedules, resulting in academic setbacks for Maceo.

Berry also claims that Maceo returns from visits with Martinez displaying anger, as Martinez reportedly discusses their relationship issues with the child. Berry argues that her parenting skills are exemplary compared to Martinez's, prompting her request for full custody to regain control over Maceo's education and therapy decisions.

Having split in 2015 after a two-year marriage, Berry and Martinez have been embroiled in a prolonged custody dispute. While they currently share joint physical and legal custody of Maceo, Berry pays Martinez $8,000 monthly in child support and covers school expenses. In a recent development, the former couple agreed to a new co-parenting arrangement, including joint sessions with a coach to improve their parenting dynamic.

However, Martinez opted to take a break during the summer, leading Berry to seek court intervention to compel his participation in the co-parenting sessions. Despite her request being denied, Berry remains committed to ensuring the best interests of Maceo. Berry is also a mother to 16-year-old daughter Nahla, whom she shares with ex Gabriel Aubry.
