Customers of ten major banks have reported they can't make payments this morning, June 1.
Bank customers reported problems with transferring funds, online banking and mobile banking apps. The banks affected are Bank of Scotland, Halifax, Lloyds, HSBC, Santander, Nationwide, NatWest, Monzo and Yorkshire Bank.
It has been reported the issue started when Santander's Faster Payments system crashed, which affected customers of other banks. Thousands of customers then reported issues at multiple banks on outages website DownDetector.

Customers have taken to social media to share their complaints over the sites and apps being down. One Santander customer said: "I can't get through to Santander - where's my money gone?" Meanwhile, a NatWest customer said: "Are there issues with the app? Transferred money at 7am for food shopping, and it still hasnt arrived in my account."
Santander's customer service account replied to one user on Twitter, saying: "Hi there, sorry to hear about this. We’re currently experiencing issues with making and receiving Faster Payments. We're very sorry for the inconvenience this is causing and we’re working hard to fix the problem. Other payment services are unaffected."
