Kashima Antlers, a professional soccer club in the J. League's top division, are accepting orders for smaller versions of a bronze statue of former player and technical director Zico.

Zico, 68, whose real name is Arthur Antunes Coimbra, was also a member of Brazil's national team.

The replicas are cast using measurements of a statue placed in front of prefecture-run Kashima Soccer Stadium in Kashima, Ibaraki Prefecture.

The price for a 90-centimeter-tall statue – half the size of the original – is 5.5 million yen, excluding shipping and installation fees, while 20-centimeter-tall statues are set at 77,000 yen.

The bronze statue, which depicts Zico during his player days, was erected in 1996 to celebrate the completion of the neighboring Kashima Sports Center.

Serving as a symbol of the stadium, the statue has long been familiar among the locals and supporters of the team.

The club decided to sell the miniature statues to commemorate the 30th anniversary of its establishment in autumn last year.

Orders for the 20-centimeter-tall statues can be placed via the club's official online store until 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

Orders for the 90-centimeter-tall statues can also be made via the club's call center from Jan. 12.
