Half of us say we have felt worse after trying a wellness trend

More than half of us have actually felt worse after trying a wellness trend, according to new research for TUI BLUE, TUI’s premium hotel brand. TUI has teamed up with TV personality and advocate of holistic wellness, Davina McCall, to launch a Wellness Menu across its resorts this summer.

The Wellness Menu has activities and experiences from authentic cooking classes to yoga. In addition, wellness concierges called BLUE Guides will be on hand to help curate itineraries.

Davina McCall recently visited the TUI BLUE Grand Azur in Marmaris, Turkey, to rod test the new menu and curate her own personal holiday experience. She said: “When I go on holiday, I always like to try something new and challenging, as well as taking the time to unwind. That’s what I love about TUI BLUE’s new Wellness Menu – it makes it so simple to tailor your holiday to exactly what you need for your own wellness.

"The excursions, cooking classes and experiences on offer at TUI BLUE resorts as part of the new Wellness Menu are a great way of immersing yourself in the local culture while taking time for yourself. It meant that I could combine more high-octane workout classes with ultimate relaxation, such as experiencing an authentic Turkish hammam.

"When it comes to my own wellness, I know that what works best for me might not work for everyone else, and it’s also something extremely personal that will change as you get older or your lifestyle changes. Finding what works for your own wellbeing shouldn’t be dictated by the latest trends on social media or stereotypical wellness tropes – find what makes you happy, and trust what feels good for your own mind and body.”

Louise Bates, Director of Concept Development, Design and Delivery at TUI, said: “Following recent research, we found that almost 9 out of 10 Brits suspect ‘wellness’ trends may not actually be helping their physical and mental health. This really resonated as we want to provide our customers with experiences that feel personal to them and that will make their holiday as enriching and transformative as possible. The benefits of a great holiday should last long after you get home.

"We know wellness isn’t a one size fits all approach. With our new Wellness Menu, we are giving TUI BLUE holidaymakers a really simple way to design their perfect holiday based on what suits them. Be that mountain biking in the hills, unwinding at our luxurious on-site spas or indulging in freshly prepared local food. It’s up to our guests and our BLUE Guides will be there to help them find the best options for them.”
