A street workout competition came to Haldane as Inler Park played host to the Highland Calisthenic Games.
The inclusive community event consisted of a Calisthenics/Street Workout competition comprising two main categories.
Competitors took part in strength endurance categories, where they were given a set number of repetitions to complete before moving onto the next exercise, in head- to-head battles.
There was also the freestyle category - with visually spectacular dynamic movements and strong static holds in one minute rounds.
Both featuring male and female athletes, a total of over 40 competitors all battled it out for glory.
The event was organised by Ben Lynch and Paddy McIntyre of Highland Calisthenic Games.
Ben told the Lennox: “This caused quite a scene in the local community and we had several bystanders choose to stop and spectate the event.
“We received incredible support from Haldane United Football Club, allowing us to use their amenities throughout the day even though the event was a surprise to them.
“Balloch’s own James Tomlin won the Pro Category for strength endurance, promoting the local’s use of this incredible park.”
The event will return for Highland Calisthenics Games 2 on September 9 and 10. Registration is open and people can follow Highland Calisthenic Games on Instagram for information.
