Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General, Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf reiterated on Monday the council’s support for all efforts aimed at ensuring security and stability in Yemen and achieving development and peace for the Yemeni people.
Al-Hajraf made his remarks during a meeting in Riyadh with UN Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, reported the Saudi Press Agency.
The officials discussed UN efforts to end the conflict in Yemen, the truce announced by the envoy, and outcomes of the intra-Yemeni consultations that were held in Riyadh in April.
They stressed the importance of following up on the implementation of the relevant resolutions on Yemen.
They underlined Gulf, regional and international efforts aimed at supporting development and relief in Yemen to meet the aspirations of the people.
They also discussed issues of common interest, and the latest regional developments.
