Hairy Bikers star Dave Myers has described how he was left in "tears” after returning to his bike with Si King. The 65-year-old was diagnosed with cancer in May last year and has received chemotherapy.
“It’s been hard but I’m not the only one,” Dave said when asked in an interview with the Yorkshire Post about how life has been since finding out he had cancer. “And I’m getting through it and I’m back at work.”
He added: “I’ve had to learn to walk again and ride my bike again. And to get on my bike again with Kingy in the sunshine brought tears to both our eyes.”

Earlier this year Dave said during a podcast appearance that he may be filming again by May and reports later confirmed that Dave and Si would return to TV for The Hairy Bikers Go West. The eight-part BBC Two series will see the pair explore the culinary attractions of the west coast, riding from Scotland all the way to Devon.
The TV chef, who has been on our screens since the late noughties, first announced that he had cancer on his and Si King’s podcast, The Hairy Bikers: Agony Uncles. He said at the time: "I've got to come clean now, I haven't been too well recently and, basically, I've got to have some chemo, you know all this anyway, so this year is going to be a bit quiet for me, I'm not going to be filming, some of the festivals I'm not going to be able to go to, some may be OK but this year's a bit of a write-off for us.
"I have had to speak up about this because I don't want to hide under a rock, but I would love it if people respect my privacy and just let me get on with it and give Si and our team all the support they need, that would be great. But look, the prognosis is OK, I'm going to be fine. I may be a baldy biker for a while so it's just a warning, I don't want to make a fuss about it, I look alright bald actually."
