We all want to take care of our hair and ensure it remains as healthy and vibrant as possible.
However, as we go about our busy day-to-day lives, it's easy to find ourselves missing a couple of recommended hair care tips here and there.
Anyone who's ever ventured into a salon will no doubt have heard their stylist singing the praises of heat protection spray, but it's admittedly sometimes difficult to visualise just how much of a difference it can make.
But thankfully, we can now see firsthand for ourselves just how damaging skipping heat protectant can be, thanks to a hairdresser from East Horsley, Surrey.

In a clip, shared to TikTok by an employee at Headquarters Hair in Horsley, the effects of heat damage can be seen through a demonstration with a simple strip of paper.
The stylist can be seen spritzing one half of the paper strip with heat protection spray, leaving the other half unprotected, before running a pair of hair straighteners over it.
Within a matter of seconds, the difference between the two ends became all too apparent - the side which hadn't been sprayed was burned a dark brown, while the protected side was nowhere near as scorched.
The eye-opening clip - shared via the username @ hqhorsley - has caused a stir amongst followers, a number of whom had no idea whatsoever about the damage they were inflicting on their locks every single day.
One person wrote that the vid has "convinced me", remarking: "I never used heat protection before".
While another admitted that they've "always thought heat protection was some sort of scam to make people spend more money now", adding that the video "has changed my mind".
A third person recalled a similar experiment, commenting: "My hairdresser put some on half a piece of bread and put it in the toaster, one side came out toasted one side came out white I was shocked".
