Hailey Bieber says she is ‘scared’ of starting a family and raising children in public eye

Hailey Bieber has spoken about her desire to have children with her popstar husband Justin – saying being in the public eye is putting her off starting a family.

The 26-year-old model and makeup mogul said she is torn about having children as she was “scared” about them growing up in the spotlight.

The model has personal experience of growing up with famous parents – as she is the daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin. Her husband of four years, Justin Bieber, was also a child star.

She said to the Sunday Times: “I literally cry about this all the time! I want kids so bad but I get scared. It’s enough that people say things about my husband or my friends. I can’t imagine having to confront people saying things about a child.”

She continued: “We can only do the best we can to raise them. As long as they feel loved and safe.”

She also made reference to going through a transitional moment in her life - addressing a recent cryptic post on social media.

Earlier this year, Bieber wrote online: “I like to make jokes about how I feel because sometimes it’s easier than admitting I’m having a hard time.

“But truthfully since 2023 started I have had some of the saddest, hardest moments I’ve ever had in my adult life and my mind and emotions have been fragile to say the least.”

She told the publication about the post: “I just felt like I was going through a lot of uncomfortable growth. Whenever you’re transitioning from one time of your life to another, it’s really uncomfortable and it can be really sad.

“[I was] just trying to connect with other people who might feel that way.”

The star is about to launch her skincare brand – Rhode Skin – in the UK.

The star posted an Instagram picture of herself in an England shirt as she prepared to launch her skincare range on Wednesday.
