It's not news that there's been a lot of fashion designer reshuffling going on. Not so long ago, Peter Hawkings parted ways with Tom Ford and we've been eagerly awaiting news regarding which talented designer would fill the role next. Well, now we know and we couldn't be more thrilled.
Today the brand revealed that Haider Ackermann is taking over the position, which made our collective heart skip several beats. Ackermann is one of our, along with Tilda Swinton's, favorite designers. His knack for tailoring and fabric selection has made his eponymous label the epitome of luxury. So we can't wait to see how the house grows under his leadership. Apparently, neither can Tom Ford.
"I have long been a great fan of Haider's work," says Ford. "I find both his womenswear and menswear equally compelling. He is an incredible colorist, his tailoring is sharp, and above all he is modern. We share many of the same historical references, and I could not be more excited to see what he does with the brand. I suspect that I will be the first on my feet to applaud after his show..."
We're pretty sure he won't be the only one giving a standing ovation. Ackermann's first collection will be unveiled during Paris Fashion Week in March 2025.
