Hagi Rangers injury latest as dad Gheorghe insists club 'very happy' with progress

Hagi Rangers injury latest as dad Gheorghe insists club 'very happy' with progress

RANGERS are "very happy" with Ianis Hagi's progress in his comeback from injury, according to his dad Gheorghe.

The Ibrox midfielder has been out since January after suffering an ACL injury in Scottish Cup duty against Stirling Albion.

However, father and footballing icon Ghoerghe Hagi has claimed Rangers are happy with Hagi's rehab as he continues to work on his fitness in the off-season.

Speaking on Hagi's recovery, Hagi Sr told Digi Sport: "He still has a career of 10-15 years ahead. He has to work, sacrifice, dedicate himself.

"We don't know what it will be [recovery time] but he is very dedicated. He represents us very well outside.

" Rangers are very happy. He is not on vacation now, he has a recovery program. He has his physiotherapists and I go with him all the time. Everything is planned."

And Hagi's father went on to suggest the creative talent could go on to enjoy a majorly succesful career.

He added: "We can make similarities, but not comparisons, especially when we talk about young players.

"Each player has their own history and their own personality.

"Ianis is part of a very talented generation. He has to work and make a name for himself in Europe, and that can only be done with trophies and with titles.
