Everton manager Frank Lampard admits he’s spoken to Anthony Gordon about his disciplinary record with the winger suspended for Saturday’s trip to Tottenham Hotspur. Everton’s home-grown hero picked up a fifth booking of the season against Manchester United on Sunday in what was just his ninth game and will now serve a one-match ban.
Asked whether he advised Gordon about the yellow cards he’s picked up, Lampard said: “Yeah, it’s something to analyse and I’ve had those conversations with Anthony.” When quizzed as to what he believed the issue was down to, the Blues boss added: “I think that’s a conversation for me to have with Anthony.

“I don’t think it’s worth hanging on too much that he’s taken on too many bookings, I’m more worried about his whole game and just working with him on that front and the booking thing has been a small part of that too. I don’t want to lose him for a game, that’s the reality of it.
“Also, if you get an early booking, that changes the aspect of the game and in the modern day it’s so fast you could get a red. There are obvious reasons you’d want to address that and yes, I’ve spoken with him about it.”
