A young man has been stabbed to death in broad daylight in a north-east London street.
Police and paramedics rushed to the scene at just after 2pm on Thursday.
The victim, believed to be aged in his 20s, was found with serious injuries. Paramedics battled to save him but he was pronounced dead at the scene at 2.33pm.
London's air ambulance was also called to Clarence Mews in Lower Clapton, about half a mile from both Hackney Downs and Hackney Central stations.
A man was arrested on suspicion of murder, police said. He remains in custody at a north London police station.
Photos posted on social media show a police cordon in place across the road and a number of police cars at the scene, as members of the public look on.
A local said in a video posted on Twitter: "I knew he was gone because the ambulance got there... and the ambulance never left.
"It's mad, it's crazy... I'm not sure what's wrong with these kids."
A Met Police spokesman the victim's next of kin "are in the process of being informed."
He added: "Formal identification awaits and a post mortem examination will be held in due course."
