A man has been stabbed after a fight broke out inside a Hackney supermarket.
Police were called at around 12.40am on Monday to a stabbing inside Elif Food Centre on Upper Clapton Road.
Officers and the London Ambulance Service rushed to the scene and found a man in his 20s suffering from a stab wound.
He was taken to hospital and his injury is not life-threatening.
A shop worker told the Standard a fight broke out inside the shop.
A friend of the shop, who was helping clean up the aftermath, explained that two men came inside and attacked a third man.
He added: “A lot of alcohol was broken. The guys ran and came back. There was alcohol, blood. Now we have to clean.
“At the bottom, everywhere, there was alcohol. Too many bottles were broken. The guy went [behind the till].
“Then the guys ran away then. They were scared because he had a knife in his hand—a big knife. I don’t know what happened then. There was too much blood.”
The shop remained closed on Monday afternoon and broken glass could still be seen on the floor inside.
No arrests have been made following the attack and police enquiries were ongoing.
The attack follows a string of shocking stabbings in Hackney in recent weeks.
Last month bus driver Derek Thomas, 53, was stabbed to death on his way home from work near Stoke Newington Common.
Scotland Yard took the unusual decision to release details of a suspect, Kamar Williams, 33, who lives in the Isle of Dogs, and warned members of the public not to approach him.
Sightings of Williams, known to frequent east and south east London, should be reported via 999 immediately.
Days earlier a 15-year-old boy was stabbed to death in broad daylight around half a mile away after picking up his younger sister from his old primary school.
Paramedics battled to save the teenager - Pharrell Garcia - after he staggered from near Benthal primary school for about 50 metres before collapsing on Stellman Close.
