'Haaland up next' - Leeds United supporters react in unison after Monaco drubbing

Leeds United supporters were left outraged after their side collapsed in the second-half of their 4-2 defeat to Ligue 1 side AS Monaco at Elland Road. The five week break was supposed to be an opportunity for Jesse Marsch and his side to work on their frailties while the World Cup played out in Qatar.

However, the defeat to the French side left a lot to be desired. Whites supporters once again took to social media calling for investment to be made in the squad in January.

Leeds are just two points above the Premier League relegation zone, with one of the worst defensive records in the division with Manchester City up next on the horizon. City's top goal scorer Erling Haaland will come into the clash refreshed having not featured at the world cup.

Leeds United vs Monaco highlights and reaction from Elland Road

That thought alone is already causing fear to spread among the Leeds United fanbase.

Here's what Leeds United supporters had to say following the defeat:

@PJ82PJ said: "3 goals in 10 mins… tell me we don’t need signings badly!?"

@Ellam9 tweeted: "What have we actually been doing for the past 5 week?"

@captainBernard said: "At least we aren't playing against Haaland next... Oh.. wait..."

@mia_rotty_leeds tweeted: "Fair enough it's only a friendly, but it's always the same story at the back."

@CourtneySparke5 said: "Man City are going to have a field day on the 28th. Sort this defence out NOW."

@Jordan_Chalders tweeted: "I know it's a friendly and some minutes before the season starts again but surely now we have to actually strengthen in Jan. We got away with it last season, just."

@Nialler_4 tweeted: "I know it’s only a friendly but we definitely have the worst defence in the league! When is the board going to see this?"
