H&M x Moschino: Full collection unveiled

H&M

H&M has released its full lookbook for the retailer’s highly-anticipated collaboration with Moschino.

After months of speculation as to what the affordable designer collection would look like, fans can now start compiling their shopping wishlists.

As is typical of the Italian fashion house, which is headed up by Jeremy Scott, the clothes are awash with cartoon prints, stiff leather-look fabrics and shiny yellow-gold hues.

“I started with the thought of how to make it the most Jeremy Scott for Moschino collection ever,” Scott told BritishVogue of designing the collection, which he says is a celebration of diversity and friendship.

“I thought about the mood of ‘street’, the mix and attitude of haute couture and humour, and the elements of bling bling accessories piled up on top of each other to capture and create the look I do on the catwalk.”

The 43-year-old American fashion designer, who also runs a successful eponymous label, explained that the collection captures the “essence” of a typical Moschino collection but at a much lower price point than is typical of the brand, where a jacket can cost up to £1,100.

Prices from the H&M collaboration range from £25 to £300, making it an attractive alternative for fans of Moschino who can’t afford pieces from the normal range.

“Whenever I design, I think about my friends,” Scott adds in a statement.

“The Moschino [tv] H&M lookbook is like a party; celebrating the fun, the pop, the creativity and the energy of the people and the collection.”

Several pieces in the collection feature famous Disney cartoon characters (H&M)

In addition to menswear and womenswear, the collaboration will also include some pieces designed exclusively for dogs, such as a chain and leopard-print padded jacket and a grey hoodie with the Moschino logo.

There will also be a number of flashy accessories (for humans), including thigh-length laced black boots, a gold logo choker, a faux leather and fur stole and a bag in the shape of a black condom wrapper.

The lookbook reveal comes days after H&M released campaign imagery starring Gigi Hadid, who is photographed wearing a leather mini dress from the collection.

The H&M x Moschino line follows a number of successful collaborations between the high street retailer and designer brands, including Balmain, Stella McCartney and Isabel Marant.

The full collection will be available in stores and online from 8 November.
