Shoppers have been heaping praise on a summer midi dress that’s perfect for the impending heatwave, with shoppers of all sizes hailing its ‘flattering’ design that ‘hides lumps and bumps’.
Some love it so much, they’ve even snapped it up in multiple designs, with four colourways available on the retailer’s website.
The drawstring-detail dress, by H&M, is new in for June 2023, and has already racked up dozens of five star reviews from customers who have purchased it for the summer. What’s more is that at £18.99, it’s a purse-friendly wardrobe addition that you’ll be able to style up or down depending on the occasion..
The calf-length dress comes in four colours and patterns, including a yellow-green shade, patterned coral, light floral design and plain black for those who prefer to keep things simple.

Already, the light floral pattern has sold out in a couple of the smaller sizes, but there’s good availability for the rest of the designs, which range from XS to XXL. According to reviews, the dresses do come up slightly bigger than usual, with many recommending customers size down.
One shopper said: “I normally wear S but after reading another review I got XS and this fits. Was a bit fussy the first time trying to figure out how to tighten the drawstrings but got the hang of it. Lovely fabric, light and comfortable in the heat.”
Another added: “Love this dress, I am small busted and ordered a size small, however I am going to have the XS instead as I found it came up quite large, especially as the drawstrings can be pulled/loosened.”
The slinky sleeveless dress comes in a woven fabric with narrow, adjustable shoulder straps, with a deep V-neckline and double spaghetti drawstrings at the waist so you can adjust it to your preferred style.
Customers have loved the design so much, they’re getting it in more than one pattern. One said: “I'm 6-8 tops, and XS was just perfect. Love its thin material and light feeling. Will get the flower pattern too!”
Another added: “Soft fabric, skims body so hides any lumps and bumps - lovely so summer evenings! The fabric is not stretchy but cup size is large enough to cover F size bra so all good!!”
The dress is in a deliberately crepey fabric, which has caused some controversy. Some prefer it because you don’t have to iron it, but others would have preferred it to be crease-free.
One said: “Beautiful dress, will be great for my summer holiday. Light and slightly crinkled, easy to wear. So soft.” But another wrote: “Came all wrinkled, very see through. Not an expensive dress, but it wasn't for me.”
The yellow-green dress is certain to be popular among dopamine dressers, with lime set to be a big trend for summer 2023. Dresses in similar shades have also been spotted at Marks and Spencer in the form of this Smocked Strappy Midaxi Dress, which has already sold out in the black version and comes in at £39.50. Meanwhile, this green taffeta swing midi dress, from River Island, costs £40.
