Varanasi: The district court on Monday rejected seven applications pleading to be included as the third party in the ongoing Gyanvapi mosque complex case observing that a third party intervention won't help in justifiable disposal of the case.

The order was passed by the District Judge Ajay Krishna Vishvesha on the applications moved under Order 1 Rule 10 of the Code of Civil Procedure (CPC).

The court has fixed October 21 as the next date of hearing.

A total 17 application of order 1 rule 10 has been filed by third parties. Seven has been cancelled by the court and rest has been heard and the remaining order will come on October 21.

Counsel from the Hindu side, Maan Bahadur Singh, Shivam Gaur and Anupam Dwivedi had objected on the applications of order 1 rule 10 of the CPC.

The district court on October 14, rejected an application moved by the plaintiff for carbon dating or other scientific investigation of Shivling-like structure found inside the Gyanvapi mosque stating that in case if any harm is caused that it will be in violation of the Supreme Court decree to preserve the structure.
