GWS say the allegations of inappropriate behaviour levelled against some of their players are distressing, with the AFL expected to hand down their sanctions by Friday.
Some Giants players are facing bans or fines after an anonymous complaint was made about inappropriate behaviour at the club's end-of-season function last month.
The AFL has been investigating the issue, with players expected to be given a chance to respond to the league's findings on Thursday.
Although the alleged inappropriate behaviour was carried out in a private function area, there's a very real prospect the AFL will dish out suspensions given serious nature of the allegations.
GWS released a statement on Wednesday evening addressing the issue.
"The club is taking the matter very seriously and acted swiftly upon the receipt of the concerns," the Giants said.
"All parties have co-operated fully with the AFL to ensure the allegations are fully investigated.
"Some of the allegations are distressing and entirely contrary to the club's values and policies.
"There is also a level of misinformation and rumour being circulated which is entirely inappropriate, particularly while the investigation is ongoing."
GWS had a straight-sets exit last month after finishing fourth in the regular season, blowing leads in their qualifying final against Sydney and the home semi-final against the Brisbane Lions.
