Some Manchester United supporters fear Alejandro Garnacho's season could be over after reports in Argentina claimed that his injury is worse than first feared.
The winger, who has been a breakthrough star for the Reds this season, was forced off in the closing stages of Sunday's goalless draw with Southampton after going down under a challenge from Saints right-back Kyle Walker-Peters. He was spotted shortly after the full-time whistle leaving OId Trafford with a protective boot on and on crutches.
At the time, of course, it was too soon for manager Erik ten Hag, speaking in his post-match press conference, to confirm the extent of the injury, though he confirmed he had taken him off as a precaution.

Ten Hag said: "He was limping a little bit after a bad tackle. So in the end I thought they bring on another striker, a tall one, I don't want to go for a risk, we were already down to 10, to go to maybe 90 per cent, that's why I took him off but I think it's not too bad."
Although United are yet to officially confirm the severity of the youngster's injury and what it specifically is, reports in Argentina have claimed that initial investigations have found that it is worse than first feared. It means he would be likely to miss the World Cup holders' clashes with Panama and Curacao towards the end of this month and the chance to win his senior debut for Argentina. He was called up to the first-team squad for the first time last year but did not store a single minute of football under his belt.
Even though, at the time of writing, United are yet to officially confirm the extent and nature of the 18-year-old's injury, some United supporters fear that he could be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, with some fearing his season could be over. Despite being well-stocked in wide areas, injury and suspension concerns have been mounting up for the Reds in recent weeks, meaning the loss of another important player would be another damaging blow.
Here's what some United supporters have had to say in response to reports suggesting Garnacho's injury is worse than first feared:
United boss Ten Hag will almost certainly provide an update on Garnacho's condition when he addresses the media ahead of the Europa League clash with Real Betis later this week.
