Guns N' Roses hit back at sound issues during Glastonbury performance

A spokesperson for Guns N' Roses has spoken to the ECHO after Glastonbury fans were left 'struggling to hear' lead singer Axl Rose during their headline set last night.

Original members Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan took to the stage at 9.30pm for a lively two hour set on the Pyramid Stage for their Glastonbury debut. However, many fans at home watching the set via BBC claimed that the singer was getting 'drowned out' by the rest of the band.

@jadelhealz tweeted: "Did someone forget to turn on Axl’s mic?" while @live_berry wrote: "Someone please sort out Axl’s mic, when you actually hear him his voice is bang on."

Despite the sound issues many were still in awe of the performance - and loved seeing three of the original line up back together. @EJdaRed: "Guns n Roses are still top class. Slash is still as amazing as ever and Axl is going all out, respect the commitment to Glasto". while @pongo1927 simply tweeted: "Guns n Roses....awesome."

A spokesperson for Guns N' Roses has told the ECHO that the sound issues were "not the band's fault". The statement claimed that it was "certain TVs" that were causing the audio issues.

The spokesperson said: "Axl was in top form last night. We have dug deep into the matter, and it appears the broadcast had issues being played on certain TVs like UHDs.

"This was an unfortunate issue that the mix played through these TVs sounding so poorly; however, it was not the band’s fault but the BBC’s."

A BBC spokesperson said: “This year the BBC is bringing audiences amazing live performances straight from Glastonbury’s stages, with 40 hours of TV coverage, 85 hours of live radio and multiple streams on BBC iPlayer.”
