Police have launched a manhunt after a 'gunman' threatened staff at a Hamilton bookies before making off with a three-figure sum of cash.
Officers are appealing for information about the incident which occurred at around 6.50 pm on Saturday, February 5, at a Ladbrokes on the town's Burnbank Road.
They say the man threatened the staff with what appeared to be a firearm, though the weapon was not discharged and no one was injured.
However, the staff were left very shaken by what happened.
The suspect is described as white, 5 ft 8 in height and of slim build, at the time of the incident he was wearing a face mask, dark upper clothing and light-coloured trousers with dark patches.
He also had on light coloured footwear, a baseball cap, his hood up and was carrying a dark rucksack.
He is believed to have run off in the direction of Ann Street, Hamilton.
Detective Sergeant Clare Curley Cambuslang CID, said: "Officers are checking CCTV and carrying out local enquiries but would also appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time to get in touch.
