A manhunt is under way after a man was allegedly targeted in a brazen shooting in Melbourne's CBD.
Police were patrolling Collins St on Sunday morning when a member of the public advised them a man had been shot.
A dark-coloured Ford Territory then drove towards police on Collins St at high speed before an officer drew a gun and the vehicle fled the scene, Victorian Police said.
The alleged victim, a 20-year-old Smythes Creek man, approached police with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
He was transported to the Royal Melbourne Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.
The alleged offender remains at large.
CCTV of the incident provided by a local business owner shows the SUV slowly driving up alongside a parked white ute and a group of about seven people walking towards it.
The vehicle stops before the group runs away, and the vehicle drives off.
The Ford then does a U-turn and drives in the direction it had come from at high speed.
People can be seen running up and down the street before the SUV returns to the roadway next to the white ute, momentarily stopping before driving away again.
The shooting happened after two men were approached by the black vehicle, Detective Acting Inspector Andrew Foot told ABC News.

A conversation took place between the men and the people in the car.
"A shot was fired and hit the man before the vehicle fled," he said.
"It appears targeted rather than a random shooting."
Mr Foot said the victim was not co-operating with police.
Police believe the people involved are known to each other.
A local business owner who did not wish to be named said he had lost a day of trade after police closed sections of Collins St following the incident.
"Six-thirty in the morning and a man had been shot - this stuff has got to stop," he said.
Armed crime squad detectives are investigating.
