According to DA spokesperson Doug Cohen, the gunfire incident took place with no students in immediate proximity. Only police officers were nearby at the time, and fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the gunfire.

Incidents involving the discharge of firearms are always taken seriously, and the DA's office is committed to thoroughly investigating the circumstances surrounding this event. The safety and well-being of all individuals involved are of utmost importance, and steps will be taken to ensure that proper protocols were followed during the police response.

Columbia University's campus was briefly disrupted by the incident, but normal activities have since resumed. The university administration is working closely with law enforcement to address any concerns and provide support to those affected by the situation.

As more details emerge from the ongoing review, the public will be updated on any developments related to the gunfire incident at Hamilton Hall. In the meantime, the NYPD and the Manhattan DA's office continue to coordinate their efforts to maintain safety and security within the community.
