Gun Lake Casino (GLC), located in Wayland, Mich., on Monday announced the official results of its annual Toys for Tots collection, which ran from December 1 through December 15.
Gun Lake Casino collected over 1,000 new toys valued at over $35,000 for children in need
GLC collected over 1,000 new toys valued at over $35,000 ranging from baby toys to full-size bicycles. Other toys include basketballs, board games, dolls, electric scooters, footballs, and stuffed animals.
Meanwhile, GLC guests were offered free slot play up to $100 every day in exchange for unwrapped toy(s) with a receipt. The tribal community, Harley Davidson of Hudsonville, and the Lakeshore Marine Corp assisted the casino.
“The 2024 Toys for Tots campaign was a great success,” said Carter Pavey, Vice President of Marketing. “We send enormous appreciation to our guests, team members, tribal community, Harley Davidson of Hudsonville, and the Lakeshore Marine Corp for helping us bring joy and love to children in West Michigan who need it the most.”
Moreover, Lakeshore Marine Corp Reserve Toys for Tots and Gun Lake Casino has partnered for years to bring toys to needy children in West Michigan.
This year, Lakeshore Marine Corp Reserve partnered up with Harley Davidson of Hudsonville and hosted a toy giveaway on Saturday, December 21.
Casino’s $300-million expansion project is nearly finished
Furthermore, Gun Lake Casino is owned by the Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of Pottawatomi Indians. GLC is located off Exit 61 on U.S. 131, halfway between Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo.
The casino is nearing its $300-million expansion, which features a 252-room luxury hotel, a full-service spa, meeting space, and additional dining options that are set to open in March 2025.
The Wawyé Oasis, an incredible 32,000-square-foot glass atrium with a year-round tropical climate, will feature a state-of-the-art entertainment center with multiple pools.
Of course, this space will also serve as a vibrant nightclub, live concert venue, and versatile banquet facility. In fact, the venue is scheduled to open in May 2025 after other upgrades are completed.
The casino’s dining amenities include Shkodé Chophouse with a contemporary take on American cuisine, CBK (Craft, Bar, Kitchen) inspired by the brewery culture in Michigan, and 131 Sportsbar & Lounge with over 6,500 square feet of meeting space.
Additionally, Gun Lake Casino offers a wide variety of gaming options, including 2,300 state-of-the-art slot machines, over 50 table games, a live poker room, a modern sportsbook, and keno.
