Gujarat Swearing-in Ceremony: Bhupendra Patel Sworn In As 18th Chief Minister, With 16 Other Ministers

Gandhinagar: Bhupendra Patel was sworn in as Gujarat 18th Chief Minister by Governor Acharya Devvrat at the ceremony held at the Helipad Ground inside the new secretariat complex here. Bhupendra Patel took the oath for the second straight term as the Chief Minister.

Sixteen other ministers, including eight of cabinet rank, were also sworn in.

Patel Raghavjibhai Hansrajbhai: Cabinet Minister

Kunwarji Mohanbhai Babariya: Cabinet Minister
Mulubhai Haridasbhai Bera: Cabinet Minister
Kuberbhai Mansukhbhai Dindor: Cabinet Minister
Bhanuben Manoharbhai Babariya: Cabinet Minister

Harsh Rameshkumar Sanghvi: State Minister-Independent Charge
Jagdish Vishwakarma: State Minister-Independent Charge

Mukeshbhai Patel: State Minister
Bhikhusinh Parmar: State Minister

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP President JP Nadda, several other Union Ministers and Chief Ministers of BJP ruled states among others were also present at the ceremony. 

From the BJP organisation, party office-bearers of taluka and city levels attended the swearing-in ceremony. Several sitting and former MPs and MLAs from the party, office-bearers of various morchas, chairmen/vice-chairmen and directors of APMCs, sarpanches of gram panchayats and party veterans from the time of Jan Sangh were also present in swearing-in ceremony.

BJP recorded a historic lead and seventh consecutive victory in the recently concluded elections of the Gujarat Assembly, by winning 156 of the total 182 seats. Main opposition party Congress could win 17 seats, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) opened account in the state legislative assembly by winning 5 seats. Samajwadi Party won 1 seat.
