Four people will be sentenced after a man's Tinder date with a woman led to his brutal and fatal stabbing during a bungled robbery at his home.
Luke Lembryk was stabbed multiple times during an August 2019 home invasion and left to die in the arms of his mother, who was severely ill with cancer at the time, in their western Sydney home.
Joseph Nehme was found guilty of murder and assault with intent to rob in company on Monday after a NSW Supreme Court jury deliberated for four hours.
Lisa Price, who had gone on a Tinder date with Mr Lembryk four months before the stabbing, told Nehme about stacks of cash worth between $10,000 and $20,000 the 29-year-old had in his possession.
Nehme admitted assaulting Mr Lembryk's mother, Robyn Bradley, but claimed another assailant involved in the break-in, Viliami Taufahema, inflicted the fatal wound on the young man when he produced a knife to fight back.
Prosecutors did not argue the men went to the home with the intention of killing Mr Lembryk, rather that they only did so when he refused to hand over the money.
Jurors were told the members of the group were part of the same joint criminal enterprise and each foresaw the robbery could lead to grievous bodily harm.
In January, after a separate trial, a jury handed down guilty verdicts against Taufahema, Price and a third co-accused, Bilal Rahim.
Price helped plan the attack, while Rahim, Taufahema and Nehme attended the home to steal cocaine and cash.
Taufahema was found guilty of murder, while Price and Rahim were found guilty of manslaughter as well as assault with an intent to rob in company
Rahim pleaded guilty to two further charges of aggravated breaking and entering, one of which relates to Ms Bradley's assault.
The jury found Price guilty of the same additional charges.
Rahim, Price and Taufahema will come before the NSW Supreme Court for a sentence hearing on April 18.
Nehme will have his own sentence hearing on June 26.
