Guests have started arriving at the US Capitol for President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration, which has been relocated indoors due to the freezing temperatures in Washington, D.C.
Notable attendees spotted at the Capitol include former President Bill Clinton and former first lady Hillary Clinton, Elon Musk - a key supporter of Trump who is set to head the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Apple CEO Tim Cook, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and popular podcast host Joe Rogan.
Several of Trump’s Cabinet selections were also seen making their way to the event, such as Doug Burgum, Trump’s pick for the Department of the Interior, and Marco Rubio, who is being considered for the role of secretary of state.
Former Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell was observed near the Capitol Rotunda, accompanied by his wife Elaine Chao, who previously served as the transportation secretary during Trump’s initial term.
Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman made an entrance at the Capitol dressed in a sweatshirt, shorts, and sneakers. Fetterman notably became the first sitting Democratic senator to engage in discussions with Trump following his election victory.
