The Guatemalan foreign ministry is actively engaged in ongoing communication with the White House to manage the deportation of its citizens from the United States. A top official from Guatemala's President's Office, Santiago Palomo, has confirmed that 264 Guatemalan nationals have been deported from the US on military flights. The Guatemalan government is prepared to handle approximately 18 weekly flights of deported citizens.
The recent deportations coincide with the Trump administration's swift implementation of its immigration agenda, focusing on expediting the removal of migrants already in the country. The return of Guatemalan nationals is being facilitated through a government assistance program called 'Returning Home,' led by President Bernardo Arévalo. The migrants are being treated with dignity upon their return to Guatemala.

Guatemalan Vice President Karin Herrera was pictured welcoming the returning migrants at a Guatemalan Air Force base. The Guatemalan Migration Institute disclosed that the 264 citizens were deported on separate flights originating from El Paso, Texas; Tucson, Arizona; and another undisclosed city.
