The Guardians scored two runs in the ninth inning Tuesday night to beat the Royals, 2–1, but that rally might not have happened if not for an incredible play made by catcher Bo Naylor in the bottom of the eighth inning.
In case you missed it, Naylor had called for a pitchout with a runner on first base. Cleveland pitcher Trevor Stephan either didn’t see that call or he just made a really bad pitch because he came very close to throwing the ball completely away.
That’s when Nalor saved the day by not only making a wild catch, but he was also able to spin around and throw out the runner at second base.
This was so good:

Handling bad pitches is imperative to throwing out runners. This is an extreme case of that. #catchers https://t.co/bL7aFWPd9y
