GTA 5 and GTA Online will release for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in March

After years of teasing, Rockstar will finally bring GTA 5  and GTA Online  to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on March 15.

These are not vanilla ports of GTA 5  and GTA Online  either. Rockstar said Friday that the  PS5  and  Xbox Series X|S  versions will have loads of new graphical enhancements.

The new graphics options for GTA 5  and GTA Online  include:

  • 4K resolutions.
  • 60 frames per second (FPS).
  • Texture and draw distance improvements.
  • HDR options.
  • Ray-tracing support.
  • Faster load times.
  • 3D audio.
  • Haptic feedback (platform-specific).

Rockstar also confirms that you’ll be able to transfer both story mode progress in GTA 5  and character progression in GTA Online  to the new console versions.

GTA Online  will also be a standalone release, meaning fans can purchase and download it without purchasing GTA 5  (or replay its prologue) again. Everything multiplayer fans want without the single-player trimmings, more or less. It makes sense, as GTA Online  is so big that  Dr. Dre’s newest music made its debut  in the game.

Rockstar also snuck in a GTA 6  announcement in its  blog  about these remasters. It’s funny how most studios have to spend millions on  Game Awards trailers  to send fans into frenzies while Rockstar can just confirm things in one sentence on its blog and get similar results.
