The pass percentage this year is 67.5%. The pass percentage in 2017 was 68.24%. Girls performed better than boys as 72.69% girls cleared the exam while the pass percentage of boys was 63.73%.
A total of 7.9 lakh regular students appeared for the examinations, held at 908 centres across 33 districts in March, out of which 5.3 lakh students have cleared the examination. The pass percentage of ‘private and external candidates’ was 6.94%.
Both the highest and lowest passing percentage districts are from south Gujarat. While Surat topped the chart with 80.06%, only 37.35% of the students from the tribal district of Dahod cleared the exam.
As many as 6,378 candidates scored the highest grade of A1 (99 to 100 marks). This was much higher than previous year when only 3,750 candidates were in this bracket. However, only 368 schools, down from 451 last year, scored 100% results.
The marksheets of the SSC exams will be distributed from 11am to 2pm at the district examination centres.
