A Midlothian child has been assaulted after an adult reportedly got involved in a fight at a local play park.
Police in the area have issued an appeal for information as well as a description of a man they wish to speak to in regards to the incident.
According to officers, the altercation took place in broad daylight at Dalkeith Country Park, at some time around 12.30pm on Sunday, June 26, 2022.

Speaking in a statement on social media, police said a fight had taken place between children, following which an adult reportedly intervened.
Urging anyone with information to contact 101, a description was given of an older man aged around 60-69, who officers are looking to speak to urgently.

An appeal said: "Around 12.30pm on Sunday 26th June an altercation has taken place between children at a play area in Dalkeith Country Park, Dalkeith, where an adult has reportedly intervened and a child has been assaulted.
"Police wish to speak to a male described as around 60 – 69 years of age, approximately 5’7”, heavy set, balding, wearing jeans and a green top in connection with the incident.
"Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 1880, 26 June 2022. Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where you can give your information anonymously."
