Group of men in Halloween costumes accused of beating horse with baseball bat

A group of men wearing Halloween costumes have been accused of hitting a horse with a baseball bat.

The alleged animal cruelty was seen taking place at the Arawang Paddock, on the corner of Namatjira Drive and Kambah Pool Road, on the night of October 31.

Police are seeking anyone who may have witnessed the Halloween night incident, which did not leave the horse seriously injured.

The horse's owner found a sticky substance on the animal later in the evening.

Another horse is also said to have been abused by the group.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has any information in relation to the identity of the group of men or boys, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website and quote reference 7889027.
