Groom breaks collar bone during dramatic dirt bike entrance to wedding

An unlucky groom broke his collar bone at his own wedding as he made a dramatic entrance on a dirt bike.

His bride-to-be was waiting with a black and white chequered flag for her new spouse - but things did not go to plan.

The stunning bride was waiting on the road side in the city of Parma in northern Italy.

Sounding his horn as excited guests got ready for the big moment, the groom came speeding around the corner on a dirt bike.

Horrified guests watched on as the groom lost control of the vehicle before being flung off it seconds later.

The pair's dream wedding turned into a disaster as the groom fell to the ground - where he lay sprawled out as reception guests rushed to his side, The Sun reports.

The groom was rushed to hospital, where he later found out that his collar bone was broken.

He was also required to have five stitches on his head.

The new husband was pictured receiving care from doctors with his wife by his side - still in her wedding dress.

Earlier this year, another groom ended up in hospital after 'drinking too many espresso martinis' on his wedding day.

Paisley and Ravid Rogers-Tripp, from Exeter tied the knot back in April in what was shaping up to be a successful night.

The reception, which had already been rescheduled from 2020 due to Covid, became memorable for all the wrong reasons after chef Rav, 30, suffered a dancefloor disaster.

After one too many espresso martinis, the grooving groom took a tumble – but was adamant he was going to enjoy the rest of his big day.

It wasn’t until 5am that reality finally hit for the newlywed, though.

"That’s when I was sober enough to feel the enormous pain I was in, and to see how swollen and bruised my leg was,” Rav said.

So, instead of a morning cuddled up with her new husband, Paisley, also 30, watched him head off to hospital.

Hours later, Rav called his wife to say he had broken his ankle really badly and would need surgery.

So the couple cancelled their honeymoon and returned home to Exeter, Devon, to wait for the op.

“We should have been on a romantic walking break in the Lake District,” said school pastoral leader Paisley.

“Instead, I was being Rav’s nurse and had to help with everything from meals to going to the toilet.”

Although Rav needed three hours of surgery after the fall, the couple still look back on their big day and smile.

“Rav says he’d do the whole day again, broken ankle and all,” Paisley said. “We try to see the funny side… now we call espresso martinis ‘ankle breakers!’”

And as for the next time there’s a wedding dancefloor? “He’s totally banned!” she laughed.
