At the age of 27, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is a two-time Super Bowl champion, a two-time MVP, a two-time All-Pro and a five-time Pro Bowler. This is not normal and in some ways, Mahomes has eclipsed even recently retired quarterback Tom Brady in his career trajectory. At Mahomes's age, Brady had two rings but just one Pro Bowl trip to his name.
Mahomes has a long way to go to catch Brady. But future Hall of Fame tight end Rob Gronkowski—a teammate of Brady’s his entire 11-year career—believes Mahomes eventually being mentioned in the same breath as Brady isn’t out of the realm of possibilities.
"He definitely can give Brady a run for his money," Gronkowski told Kay Adams on her show Up & Adams on FanDuel. "He's young. He has two Super Bowl wins now. He's been to the Super Bowl three times over the last six years. But in order to get to that level, you're gonna have to be consistent for the next 15 years."
