The Los Angeles Lakers’ recent momentum following their blockbuster Russell Westbrook trade was halted on Tuesday when they fell to the Memphis Grizzlies, 121-109.
Los Angeles was without LeBron James and D’Angelo Russell, leaving them with a lack of shot creators who could answer the big run Memphis had late in the third quarter and into the fourth quarter to open up a sizable lead.
The win helped the Grizzlies maintain some separation over the Sacramento Kings to hold on to second place in the Western Conference.
Afterward, the team’s official Twitter account threw shade at the Lakers by trolling Hall of Fame NFL tight end and James apologist Shannon Sharpe.

Sharpe, of course, was involved in a courtside altercation the last time these teams played, which was at Crypto.com Arena. The Fox Sports 1 personality talked trash to Memphis forward Dillon Brooks, who took exception, and a melee ensued.
Some might argue the Grizzlies had almost no reason to boast here, given they defeated a seriously depleted Lakers squad in a mere regular-season game.
